Event Details

Research over several decades has shown that parents play a central role in determining outcomes for children. These studies also demonstrate a strong need to engage parents in services, with a new kind of partnership between parents and professionals emerging from the Start Right report.

‘Parents are the most important people in children’s lives. It is from parents that children learn most, particularly in the early months and years’ (Start Right, 19994).

This important conference will explore ways to work with families as part of the long-term drive to bring about learning, change and improvement in services for children and families. Conference workshops will be focused around the new Principles for Engaging with Families which will be launched at the event.

National Quality Improvement Network

NQIN is a specialist body that supports quality improvement partners to improve outcomes for children and their families, by ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support. The network plays a central role in informing national policy debate on quality improvement whilst regional networks ensure best practice and resources are shared locally.
